Saraswati World School Celebrates Annual Function “Oorja 2025” with Grandeur and Enthusiasm

On 12th January 2025, Saraswati World School hosted its much-anticipated annual function, “Oorja 2025,” at the school premises. The event, commencing at 11:30 am, was marked by a spectacular display of talent, innovation, and cultural vibrancy. It drew a distinguished audience, including esteemed guests, parents, faculty members, and students.

The ceremony began with a warm reception and an introductory address, followed by a garlanding ceremony and a ceremonial lamp-lighting, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. The Honourable Chairman, Mr. Vikrant Singh, Vice Chairman, Mr. Vinod Singh, and Director, Mrs. Sneha Singh, alongside several notable dignitaries, graced the proceedings. The occasion was further elevated by the presence of the Chief Guests, Mr Biswajit Mukherjee, an eminent environmentalist and social activist, and Mr Debashis Mukhopadhyay, a distinguished researcher and writer. Their thought-provoking speeches inspired the audience, underscoring the significance of sustainable practices and intellectual pursuit in education.

The Principal, Mrs. Shyamasree Biswas, presented the school’s comprehensive annual report, spotlighting the institution’s significant achievements, milestones, and progressive strides over the past year. This was followed by an insightful address by the Chairman, who emphasized the pivotal role of education in empowering young minds and fostering a future-ready generation.
A notable event highlight was the launch of a new book, School Education in India in 2024, authored by the Vice Chairman, Mr. Vinod Singh. The publication reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and intellectual contribution to the education sector.
The program featured a vibrant array of cultural performances, showcasing the students’ artistic and creative talents. Highlights included:

- Shiv Tandav, a mesmerizing dance depiction of Lord Shiva’s cosmic dance.
- The dance drama Nari Shakti, celebrating women’s empowerment.
- Melodious renditions of Achutam Keshabam and a Hindi mashup medley.
- A Vivekananda-themed presentation, underlining the teachings and values espoused by Swami Vivekananda.
- Dramas such as Siksha ka Mulyo (Hindi) and The Kindness of Ram (English), exploring educational and ethical themes.
- Heartfelt dance performances dedicated to parents, exuding emotional depth and gratitude.

The youngest stars of the event, the pre-primary students, captivated the audience with their energetic dance routines, drawing widespread applause. The grand finale included a nostalgic Black & White Era dance sequence and the profound Freedom Fighter Bhagat Singh dance drama. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving an indelible impression of patriotism and unity.
